Although breast cancer risk is related to many environmental and lifestyle factors, a person can control their risk by changing their diet. People who choose the best diet for breast cancer will have a healthier body weight and better overall diet quality.


A healthy diet should include plenty of fruit and vegetables, low fat, high fiber foods, and good sources of lean protein, such as salmon, nuts, beans, and low fat cheeses. Avoiding high fat foods and eating foods high in sugar and fat may increase the risk of developing breast cancer.
