What is DIM  ? The phytonutrient indole (which occurs naturally only in cruciferous vegetables) plays an important role in plant growth. During chewing, plant enzymes are released from broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables.
As a result of stomach acid heating these enzymes, a compound called indole-3 carbinol (I3C) is formed, leading to the formation of DIM.

Scientists have struggled to pinpoint exactly how DIM (a compound in cruciferous vegetables) works to fight tumors and malignant cells.

With regard to prostate cancer, a 2014 study published in the journal PLoS One concluded that DIM is a promising chemo-protective agent that, in addition to sulforaphane, helps the body activate the right genes it already possesses to fight cancer cells.

Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, have also found that DIM activates certain cellular stress response pathways in cervical, prostate and breast cancer cells, making them more susceptible to elimination.

In other words, this active, along with I3C, acts like a soldier by invading enemy territory and helping the body rid itself of harmful cancer cells.
